With Heidi out of town it fell to me to make dinner tonight. I can't think of the last time I made dinner; in the past I would have taken the kids to fast food or something. But that wasn't in the plan, so for those of you who rely on your spouse to cook here's the easy recipe I made:
- 3 chicken quarters cut up (leftovers that were already in the fridge)
- Rice, cooked in the rice cooker; text your spouse to find out the amounts of rice and water to use
- Mix the chicken and rice; add chili powder, white pepper, paprika, and tumeric
- Microwave a package of broccoli in cheese sauce
Bon appetit!
sounds good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are pathetic. This week I made:
ReplyDelete-Delicious salad with tons of veggies, apples, craisins, topped with grilled chicken (marinated in a sauce I created)
-Pasta (spiced up with various italian seasonings) with sausage
-Thai chicken stir fry
-For St. Patrick's Day, (1) Sausage with an Irish honey mustard, (2) Irish au gratin potatoes, and (3) Irish Soda Bread
Hoo-ah!
Great way to wing it! Cooking is a lot easier than you'd think, and a lot of it is more about inspiration. Allrecipes.com is my very place to hunt for recipes, and I've got a few food blogs that I follow to get ideas as well. I recommend following Smitten Kitchen and Annie's Eats. They have links to other great food blogs that will get you inspired to get into the kitchen and create wonderful meals.
ReplyDeleteOK, so now that it's Sept...how goes the cooking?
